The glass is good in the windshield and the side angled quarter windows. All of the cushions are in good condition and everywhere there is a wooden seat there are also cushions thatgo with it. We had the boat taken to a local shop and they flushed the water out of the engine, serviced it and got it running again and since it was getting late in the year decided tohave it winterized. A severe and unusual wind storm came up and swamped the boat and alsorubbed a hole in the hull as our pictures show. He brought it back to Wallowa County and used it briefly on Wallowa Lake. These repairs and work cost himover $25,000.00 for all ofit to be done. Checked over and repainted the exterior of the vessel.

Cleaned all of the interior finish and made it look almost like new. Heinstalled his new engine in hisshop and checked out the propeller, shafts, seals and everything about this boat to make sure it was ready to use.
MORPHEW WOOD RUNABOUT BOAT 1955 INSTALL
(He kept the old motor and it would be available if you wanted to go pick it up as he will not ship it.)So he decided to install a new modern fuel injected V/6 Chevy marine engine.
MORPHEW WOOD RUNABOUT BOAT 1955 UPGRADE
He purchased this boat on the east coast and since the old original motor wasn't in the best of operating condition he chose to upgrade and make it a more reliable vessel. If I measured the beam width correctly it is actually closer to 7 feet 6 inches wide across the center of the passenger compartment. I am not sure that it is really a Runabout but comparing it to other pictures that is what I came up with. Good luck and place a bid! You’ll love this boat, everyone else does.I am selling this vintage 1955 Lyman23 foot wooden boat complete with a nice heavy Sea Lion tandem axle trailer for a friend of mine. I lost my storage, so I really can’t hold the boat for long if she sells at auction. I’ll get some of the Caddy pix on later this week, just forgot to take them. Check my feedback and know she’s as described. I have three Coronados and am just down sizing as we use our ’63 more than anything else. The pix I’m showing here are only a week old, and we were in her just last weekend (my wife and I in boat). There is less than 1000 miles on the trailer. It also comes on a seven year old Vanguard tandem trailer that was built for the ’56. It does need a new tack cable, but I'll provide that. It would not take much to make her a show condition boat though. The interior and everything else looks in very good (not show) condition. There is also one very small soft spot on the starboard sheer plank in the painted area that would be easy to fix. It’s now been ten years and the finish is just now beginning to look a little tired, with the typical plank-seam separation. A restoration was completed when we acquired the boat which included 5200 bottom, chrome, A&A correct interior, flooring, W/S panels, gauges, and strip/stain/varnish/paint. There are approximately 125 hours on the engine since being rebuilt. I also had this engine completely rebuilt about 3-4 years ago to the tune of about $11k.and it runs fantastic (and is FAST). The only change is the previous owner installed a single 4-barrel because he had trouble with the two 4s. It is the original engine with this boat. This one has the Cal-Connell Cadillac engine rated at 265 HP. I’ve owned this boat for ten years.and actually have two of them I like them so much.

Beginning in 1957 the fore decks were vinyl. The 1955-56 models were the only years the boats came with the mahogany fore and aft decks. The first year of their introduction was 1955 with major changes occurring every two years.
